Linh Phước Pagoda
Linh Phuoc Pagoda is located at 120 Tu Phuoc, the Trai Mat area,away from the center of Dalat city 8 km, on national way no. 20. The pagoda also called Ve Chai (mean glass) Pagoda, in the courtyard there's a 49 m long dragon is made of 12,000 bottles of beer. Linh Phuoc Pagoda is a sophisticated architectural glass mosaic characteristic of the city of Da Lat.
The pagoda was constructed in 1949, completed in 1950. In 1990, Abbot Thich Tam restored temple and build more new constructions.
The main hall has 33 m long, 12 m wide with two rows of columns sophisticated mosaic of dragon, the bas-relief on a more sophisticated mosaic about historical Buddha Shakyamuni and the historical stories of the Lotus Sutra, Amitabha Sutra.
There is a 49 meters long dragon statue in the courtyard (Garden of Flower and Dragon) , dragon fins are made of 12,000 beer bottles, wide mouth covered Buddha statue. In front of the Garden of Flower and Dragon is the tower with 7th floor, 36 meters high, where the "Dai Hong Chung" (massie bell) is hang. The bell is 4.3 m high, 2.33 m wide, weighing 8,500 kg that made in 1999. It's considered the heaviest bell in Vietnam . The front yard of thepagoda is Avalokiteshvara statue on a terrace.
Linh Phuoc Pagoda is now the final point of the only railway in Dalat.
